Der Sprachen Hub celebrates successful candidates in ECL German certification ceremony

Der Sprachen Hub hosted a prestigious awarding ceremony recognizing candidates who successfully completed the ECL German examination system, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of internationally recognized language certification in Rwanda.

The ceremony held in Kigali, on April 19, 2026 brought together graduates, instructors, and stakeholders to celebrate the achievements of candidates across multiple proficiency levels, including A2, B1, B2, and C1. The event highlighted not only academic success but also the growing importance of German language skills in unlocking global education and career opportunities.

Since obtaining official licensing in late 2025, Der Sprachen Hub has rapidly established itself as a key provider of ECL examinations in the region. The program has seen remarkable growth, with participation increasing significantly in recent exam sessions. The introduction of beginner-level A2 exams has further expanded access, enabling more learners to embark on their German language journey.

Graduates shared inspiring testimonials about their experiences. One of the successful candidates, Egide Ntihinyuzwa, who earned a B1 certificate, explains his motivation.

“In both academic learning and social interactions, I did not encounter any challenges at all, and the training provided was highly valuable and enriching. We were assessed alongside some students who studied German elsewhere; however, we are not at the same level as them, as our proficiency level is higher. I had always wanted to learn German, but it seemed out of reach due to financial challenges. Thanks to this opportunity, I was able to commit fully and achieve my goal. The program is not only high-quality but also affordable.” Says Egide

Also, Ornella Mugisha Shimwamukiza expresses her journey of studying the German language, including examinations and certification awards.

“Lectures supported us in many ways, and the administrators consistently ensured that students were well equipped and had the appropriate learning materials. Studying the German language is not easy, but a candidate must put in more effort and show commitment.” Says Ornella

Mwizerwa M., The CEO of a Der Sprachen Hub – German Language Academy emphasizes the role of language certification in bridging local talent with international opportunities.

“German language skills are becoming increasingly valuable for Rwandans seeking higher education and employment abroad. Through ECL certification, we are equipping our students with globally recognized credentials.” Mwizerwa says

The ECL examinations have also attracted candidates from across the region, including Burundi, Uganda, Cameroon, and Zimbabwe, positioning Rwanda as an emerging hub for German language certification in Africa.

As the ceremony concluded, Der Sprachen Hub reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the program, with future examination sessions already planned. The continued growth reflects a rising awareness among young professionals and students of the value of multilingual skills in an increasingly globalized world.
